Construction in downtown Lake Bluff starts Monday, October 4.

This fall, we're rebuilding part of Lake Bluff's downtown to be better than ever. This project will rebuild the streetscape and pedestrian improvements on Scranton Avenue between Walnut and Oak Avenues, as well as part of East Center Avenue across from the Village Green. You can click here to view all of the planned improvements, which include:

  • Road resurfacing.
  • Replacement of all sidewalks.
  • Enlarging pedestrian spaces at intersections.
  • Crosswalk improvements.
  • New seat walls and street furniture (benches, waste receptacles, bicycle racks).
  • New festoon lighting.

Construction will occur Monday through Friday and Saturdays as needed. Businesses and the road will remain open at all times this fall, as will on-street parking stalls on at least one side of the street at any given time. Daytime parking at the Lake Bluff Metra station (one block away) is free during the construction project.
