The Lake Bluff Letter - November 17, 2023

The PCZBA hosted an Open House at Village Hall on Wednesday evening to gauge residents' opinions on housing and land use to help inform the goals and priorities of the Comprehensive Plan. There was great interest and questions regarding the on-going conversation about Missing Middle Housing. Thank you for all who attended this meeting!

The best way to stay in the loop is to subscribe to the plan website; this will keep you posted on all project news and events as they are announced. While you’re there, make sure to share your ideas to the comment map (and come back whenever inspiration strikes) and, if you haven’t yet, take the five-minute survey to let us know your priorities for Lake Bluff’s future.

Landscaping Tip of the Week. Consider leaving plant stalks standing tall this winter as their seed heads provide food for birds as well as homes for native bees and other beneficial insects. Feel free to cut these stalks back in spring when at least 12” in height; keep the cut stems on the ground or tuck them behind shrubs so even late hatching native bees survive.

The Library will be closing early on November 22 (2 pm) and will be closed on November 23.
