Upcoming Green Bay Road Project (Spring 2026)

On Thursday, November 2, the Village of Lake Bluff is hosting an Open House to provide information on the upcoming Green Bay Road Reconstruction and Bridge Replacement project (schedule, detours, design, etc.). The Open House will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building Community Room located at 45 East Center Avenue.

Village Community Updates

Here's what to look forward to:

  • Official Trick or Treat hours are 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, October 31.
  • Pumpkin Bash will be held at Artesian Park from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, October 27.
  • Pumpkin Chase 5K and Fun Run will take place from 8 to 10 am on Saturday, October 28.
  • Police Department Hot Dog Roast will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Halloween (while supplies last). Trick-or-treaters are invited to stop by the Public Safety Building (45 E. Center Avenue) for free hot dogs, chips, and refreshments.

Shoes, Shred & Seeds. On October 28 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Highland Park Country Club, SWALCO will be taking shoes for the Reuse-a-Shoe program, accepting confidential documents for shredding & recycling, and handing out native/pollinator seeds to anyone who would like to plant them. For more information about this event, click here.

Going Out on a Limb. This Saturday, the Village's Public Works Department with the help of volunteers will be planting about 40 trees along the McClory Bike Path (west of Sheridan Road). The Village’s trees filter air and water, sequester carbon, help control stormwater runoff, provide shade, and conserve home energy. Furthermore, native trees provide a home for our non-human inhabitants, including important pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and moths.

Every Trick (or Treat) in the Book. Children, teens, and adults can stop by the Lake Bluff Library during the week before Halloween to trick-or-treat. Check in with the friendly staff at the Circulation Desk to receive a treat. Costumes optional but encouraged!
