Comprehensive Plan Missing Middle Housing Presentation

On Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 pm, please join the Plan Commission & Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) in person at Village Hall or via Zoom to hear an overview of Missing Middle Housing presented by the Village's Planning Consultant Opticos. The presentation will run about 1 hour followed by a Q&A session.

Pollution ‚Ȇ the Solution.¬†On Tuesday, October 17 at 7:00 pm,¬†please join the¬† Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (SEC)¬†in person at Village Hall or via Zoom to hear a presentation by Adam Kreuzer, a founding member of Dark Sky Chicago, about reducing light pollution.¬†The presentation will run about 30 minutes followed by a Q&A session. Library¬†StoryWalk¬ģ. Stroll through a story at Lake Bluff Library with the Fall StoryWalk¬ģ experience. This October, the Library will be exploring the stars with Rocket and her family with¬†Rocket Says Look Up!¬†by Nathan Bryon just in time for the annular eclipse. At the end of the walk, you‚Äôll have an opportunity to enter a raffle for a copy of¬†Rocket Says Look Up!¬†and a Discovery Planetarium Projector.¬†Click here for¬†more information.


CROYA News. CROYA’s Middle School Fall Dance is October 13 from 7:30-9:30 pm. Click here to purchase a ticket. CROYA’s annual Poinsettia Sale begins October 18. Recent Village Board (VB) Meeting (October 9). The Village Board: 

  • Approved a text amendment, RIO development plan, and Special Use Permit to allow child daycare services and a school (music) at Grace United Methodist Church (244 East Center Avenue).
  • Discussed terminating and releasing a conservation easement and area at 201 Moffett Road.
  • Preliminarily approved the proposed Lawrence Pub's special use permit to¬†decrease the proposed floor area of the building, increase the outdoor seating area, and remove¬†a condition requiring three additional parking spaces¬†(101-113 East Scranton Avenue).¬†
  • Preliminarily approved¬†the Lake Bluff Municipal Code regarding the Food and Beverage Tax.¬†


Recent Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) Meeting (October 11). The HPC: 

  • Hosted an informational seminar regarding the local landmarking process and Village and state preservation incentives.


Upcoming Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (SEC) Meeting (Tuesday, October 17, 2023, 7 p.m.). The SEC will:

  • Hear a presentation by Adam Kreuzer, a founding member of Dark Sky Chicago, about reducing light pollution.
  • Further discuss tree protection and Village forestry regulations.


 Upcoming Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) Meeting (Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 7 p.m.). The PCZBA will:

  • Hear a presentation by Opticos about Missing Middle Housing as part of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update process.
