Street Resurfacing Underway. Click here for a list of streets. All work will be substantially completed by the end of June.

 

Criterium Bike Race Volunteers Needed. A Volunteer Coordinator is needed for the bike race- more information can be found here. Also needed is Host Housing- more information can be found here.

 

So Fresh and So Green. The Garden Club will liven up sidewalk planters with blooms, bulbs, and greens on the morning of June 24. Please stop to say hello and learn more about the Club.

CROYA is open each day for youth to drop-in from 1 to 3 pm, including float building for the Lake Bluff Fourth of July Parade. CROYA’s Cubs Night Game Trip is Wednesday, June 28- click here for more information.

Recent Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (SEC) Meeting (June 20, 7 p.m.). The SEC:

  • Heard a presentation from the Morton Arboretum (CRTI Partnership) regarding Best Practices for Urban Forestry.
  • Discussed the existing Tree Ordinance Species List.
  • Recommended denial of a¬†possible 2-year exemption to the Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Ban for properties 20 acres and over.

 

Recent Joint Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) Meeting (June 21, 7 p.m.). The PCZBA:

  • Recommended¬†approval of variations necessary to construct a second-story addition on an existing detached garage at 618 Maple Avenue, a locally landmarked property.

 

Upcoming Village Board Committee-of-the-Whole (COW) meeting (Monday, June 26, 2023, 6 p.m.). The COW will:

  • Discuss an LGBTQ+ Pride Flag request.
  • Continue to discuss possible updates to the Village‚Äôs Affordable Housing Plan.

 

Upcoming Village Board meeting (Monday, June 26, 2023, 7 p.m.). The Village Board will consider:

  • A request for a 2-year exemption to the Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Ban for properties 20 acres and over.
  • Appointment of Susan Wicks to the Architectural Board of Review and Paul Lemieux and Mark Dewart as¬†Co-Chairpersons of the Business Advisory Ad Hoc Committee.
  • Appointment and swearing in of Raffi Elchemmas as Village Clerk.
  • Approving variances for floor area and impervious surface related to a proposed shed (525 E. Center Avenue, a Lake Bluff landmarked property).
  • Approving variances for height, floor area, and setbacks related to the addition of a second story on an existing detached garage (618 Maple Avenue, a Lake Bluff landmarked property).
  • BYOB liquor license for Half and Half Pizza (77 E. Scraton Avenue).
  • Appointing Clara Gable, Assistant to the Village Administrator, as the Village‚Äôs Alternate Delegate to¬†the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA).
  • Authorizing the dissolution of the Government Information¬†Technology Consortium (GovITC).
