Breakfast with the Mayors. Join Lake Bluff Village President Regis Charlot and Lake Forest Mayor Stanford "Randy" Tack on June 23 for an overview of the latest information about each community. Click here for more information.


Street Resurfacing Underway. Click here for a list of streets. All work will be substantially completed by the end of June.


So Fresh and So Green. The Garden Club will liven up sidewalk planters with blooms, bulbs, and greens on the morning of June 24. Please stop to say hello and learn more about the Club.

Board and Committee Actions

Recent Village Board meeting (Monday, June 12, 7 p.m.). The Village Board:

  • Received the Treasurer's Annual Police Pension Fund Report and the 2023 Farmers Market Report.
  • Waived permit fees for the Lake Bluff School District.
  • Amended the Comprehensive Fee Schedule.
  • Gave first reading approval to grant variances for floor area and impervious surface for a new shed (525 E. Center Avenue).
  • Gave first reading approval to grant a BYOB liquor license for Half and Half Pizza (77 E. Scraton Avenue).
  • Approved Professional Service Agreement with Interdev, LLC for IT and security services.
  • Approved the purchase of a replacement pedestrian bridge (Glen Avenue Footbridge).


Recent Historic Preservation Comission (HPC) meeting (June 14, 7 p.m.). The HPC:

  • Terminated a demolition review for 201 Moffett Road.
  • Began planning for a Historic Preservation Program Seminar (tentatively set for September 13).


Upcoming Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (SEC) Meeting (Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 7 p.m.). The SEC will:

  • Hear a presentation from the Morton Arboretum regarding Best Practices for Urban Forestry.
  • Discuss existing Tree Ordinance Species List.
  • Discuss a possible 2-year exemption to the Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Ban for properties 20 acres and over.


Upcoming Joint Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) Meeting (Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 7 p.m.). The PCZBA will consider:

  • Recommending variations to construct a second-story addition on an existing detached garage at 618 Maple Avenue, a locally landmarked property.
