Sad News

‍‍Lake Bluff Police Officer Jeff Jacoby passed away in a boating accident on June 6 in Iron County, Wisconsin where he was fishing with friends. He is survived by his wife and their two college-aged children. Officer Jacoby was hired by the Village of Lake Bluff in 2020 and had 30+ years of law enforcement experience with the Villages of Lisle and Des Plaines. Although his time with the Village of Lake Bluff was relatively brief, he made an immediate impact on the Department and was very well liked by all that worked and interacted with him; he was quick to share his experience and extensive training with fellow officers and received letters of appreciation by the Village and others for his fine work—and he did these things with his special humor and wit. Officer Jacoby will be missed greatly.
