Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Seasonal Ban

The Village Board has now approved a May 15 - September 30 seasonal ban on the use of gas-powered leaf blowers. If you don't perform your own lawn maintenance, talk to your contractor about this new regulation.

Stormwater Utility Fee

Following more than 2 years of study and public engagement, the Village Board of Trustees has determined it is necessary to create a Stormwater Utility to provide an equitable, efficient, certain and neutral revenue stream for the construction, maintenance, operation and improvement of the Village's stormwater system. After including public comments and concerns, the Village Board is considering a draft ordinance, which includes an effective date of July 1, 2023, at its April 24, 2023 meeting. More information about the Stormwater Utility fee can be found on the Village's website.

Less Lesser is More. Lesser celandine, also known as fig buttercup, has been spotted in Lake Bluff and in surrounding areas. Be alert, as this invasive species spreads quickly and if left undisurbed, can eliminate native wildflowers.

Lights Out for Migratory Birds. Migrating birds travelling at night can become disoriented by artificial lighting. Now through June 15th, consider turning off your outdoor lights from dusk to dawn to help birds.
