Stormwater Utility

Following two years of study and analysis, the Village Board of Trustees is proposing to create a new stormwater utility including a utility fee.

The Board believes the utility will be the best long-term solution and will create a dedicated funding source that will allow Lake Bluff to increase the speed at which it builds and improves stormwater infrastructure. Before proceeding further, the Village is providing information to residents about this decision-making process. You can review the same facts the Village Board did and let the Village know if and how it should change its approach.

More information was mailed to addresses throughout the Village, is available on the Village website, and will be presented in a series of public meetings later this month.

Village and Community Updates

LOCK YOUR CAR. In the last week, three cars have been stolen in Lake Bluff. In every instance, the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys stored inside. Always keep your valuables out of sight or in the trunk. Never leave valuables in unattended vehicles. Always lock your vehicle and take your keys with you.

VILLAGE TREE TRIMMING BEGINS SOON in areas east of Glen Avenue and Moffett Road. Tree trimming occurs between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and signs will be posted on affected streets before work begins. Click here for more information.

THIS OLD HOUSE. Lake Bluff has commissioned over four surveys of its historic architecture over the last 25 years. You can now explore Lake Bluff's historic houses online through a new interactive map.

COMMUNITY SAFETY is on everyone's mind, especially parents. Lake Bluff and Lake Forest government and schools are partnering to produce a series of discussions on important safety topics. The series continues on Tuesday, January 17 at 7 p.m. with "Internet Safety for Parents."

WINTER PARKING REMINDER. Please move your vehicles off the street to help clear snow and ice from Lake Bluff roads. As a reminder, parking is currently prohibited on Village streets between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. every night (November 15th-April 1th) or after a two-inch snowfall until snow removal is complete.

CURB YOUR DOG. As a reminder to Lake Bluff dog owners, please remember to pick up your animal's waste.
