Village and Community Updates


SUMMER FUN'S STILL GOING. Don't buy your pumpkin spice latte yet - there's still 20 days left of summer fun in Lake Bluff, including:

  • CenterStage's free performances of Shakespeare on the Green start tomorrow at 4 p.m. and continue throughout this weekend (September 3 & 4) and next weekend (September 10 & 11). 
  • Start your morning with the third annual Lake Forest High School "Scout All Out" 5K and fun run next Saturday morning (September 10).
  • The last downtown block party of 2022 - Oktoberfest! - will take place the evening of Saturday, September 10.
  • Public Safety Day, originally scheduled for September 10, has been postponed to October 22.

LABOR DAY. Village non-emergency offices, including the Lake Bluff Recycling Center, are closed Monday. All trash collections will be delayed one day next week. 

 

USING AN E-SCOOTER AROUND TOWN? E-scooters can be dangerous if operated carelessly. Remember to: wear a helmet; test how to make an emergency stop; alert others of your presence when passing by; and only have one rider on an e-scooter at a time.

Recent Village Board & Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Special Meeting (August 29, 6 p.m.). The Village Board and PCZBA finished workshopping proposed changes to the Village's planned residential development regulations. A public hearing to consider the final changes will take place later in September.

 

Recent Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Special Meeting (August 29, 7 p.m.). The PCZBA conditionally recommended the Village Board approve NSWRD's RIO Development Plan proposal to construct a one million gallon subterranean overflow basin at the Lake Bluff Beach.

 

Upcoming Architectural Board of Review Meeting (Tuesday, September 6, 7 p.m.). The ABR will review NSWRD's RIO Development Plan proposal to construct a one million gallon subterranean overflow basin at the Lake Bluff Beach, as well as proposed antenna changes to the cell tower at the Public Safety Building (45 E. Center Ave.).
