Village and Community Updates

 

SUMMER FUN'S STILL GOING. After you recover from eating corn for breakfast this morning, check out the Block Party downtown tomorrow night (Saturday, August 13) starting at 4 p.m. This Block Party is a partnership with the Lake Bluff Library. Bluffinia continues at 6 p.m. Sunday on the Village Green with the Mr. Meyers Band.

 

SCHOOL STARTING BACK UP. School resumes in session in two weeks. Remember to drive carefully and watch for pedestrians. CROYA activities resume soon for Lake Bluff youth, starting with school drop-in hours (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, August 24. 

 

CART REFRESH WRAPPING UP. If you don't have the right landfill and recycling cart, call Groot at (877) 404-7668. This replacement is part of the Village's updated residential waste, recycling, and composting program.


DAY ON THE FARM. Once a year, local art and history enthusiasts have a chance to tour Crab Tree Farm's historic grounds and exclusive collection of American Arts and Crafts furnishings. This year's tours will be held Saturday, September 17 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from the Lake Bluff History Museum.


BIKE PATH BRIDGE CLOSURE. The Robert McClory Bike Path will detour in Lake Forest until next Friday, August 19. Click here for more information.

CABLE GUY. Lake Bluff and Lake Forest public access television channels (Comcast Channel 19) may be intermittenly unavailable next week due to scheduled maintenance and equipment upgrades.

Upcoming Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (Monday, August 15, 7 p.m.). The SEC will discuss the Library's outdoor learning garden and the July 23, 2022 major storm event.

 

Upcoming Village Board & Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Special Meeting (Wednesday, August 17, 6 p.m.). The Village Board and PCZBA will continue discussing proposed changes to the Village's planned residential development regulations. 


 Upcoming Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Special Meeting (Wednesday, August 17, 7 p.m.). The PCZBA will review NSWRD's RIO Development Plan proposal to construct a one million gallon detention basin at Sunrise Park and Beach.
