Village and Community Updates

TOUR DE BLUFF TOMORROW: This year's Lake Bluff Criterium is back and bigger than ever! The Lake Bluff leg of the Intelligensia Cup is part of the national American Criterium Cup and will be professionally broadcast on Outside TV. For more information, visit lakebluffcriterium.com. 

• Street Closures. Scranton Avenue between Sheridan Road and Evanston Avenue will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until late Saturday evening. Streets within the course will close Saturday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. and reopen after races are concluded (approximately 8 p.m.).
• Volunteers. The Criterium still needs your help between 5:15 and 7:40 p.m! Click here for volunteering information.

CART REFRESH, PT. 2. IMPORTANT! Groot is almost done delivering new landfill and recycling carts. Starting Monday, August 1, place old carts at the curb and leave them until they are removed. All old carts must be collected by Groot; you cannot keep your old carts. If you have any issues, call Groot at (877) 404-7668. This replacement is part of the Village's updated residential waste, recycling, and composting program.

DAILY VIADUCT CLOSURES NEXT WEEK. The Scranton Avenue viaduct will close daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday (Aug. 1) through Saturday (Aug. 6). The closure is necessary to repair rusted sections of the bridge support system. 

BIKE PATH BRIDGE CLOSURE. The Robert McClory Bike Path will detour in Lake Forest until August 16. Click here for more information.

Recent Village Board Meeting (July 25, 7 p.m.). The Village Board:

• Discussed concept plans for the North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) facilities at Sunrise Park and Beach.
• Recognized a Village award for financial reporting.
• Amended the Village's fee waiver policy to allow additional types of organizations and requests to receive fee waivers.

Recent Police Pension Board Meeting (July 26, 5:30 p.m.). The Police Pension Board conducted its regular quarterly meeting.

Upcoming Architectural Board of Review Meeting (Tuesday, August 2, 7 p.m.) The ABR will review a sign permit application for Fit 2 Defend Academy (419 W. Washington Ave.)
