GUN LOCKS AVAILABLE:

The Lake Bluff Police Department keeps a small number of cable gun locks on hand, for free, in partnership with Project Child Safe. The clerk at the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building desk can usually provide them, Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.   

 

FIREARM/AMMUNITION TURN IN:

Residents may turn in firearms for destruction at the Public Safety Building any day of the week. Firearms must be unloaded and secured in a container. If you are unable to secure the firearm, leave the firearm in your vehicle and notify the front desk or dispatch center. If you are unsure how to handle the firearm, please call 847-234-2151 and an Officer can respond to your residence in Lake Bluff.

Ammunition may also be turned in at the Public Safety Building, in any type of packaging. If you are unsure how to handle the ammunition, please call 847-234-2151 to speak with an Officer.
