COVID-19 Updates
PHASE THREE. Our region continues to stay in Phase 3 of Restore Illinois, the statewide five-phase public health plan to reopen. While we are safer than we were at the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 is still being actively transmitted in our region. You should continue to take precautions, especially by keeping a six foot distance from others and by wearing a face covering while in public.
FREE TESTS. New: You can now get COVID-19 testing without symptoms, insurance, a prior appointment, or a doctor's referral at any IDPH community-based testing site. The closest site is at 102 W. Water St. in Waukegan and is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or while daily supplies last.
TAKE NOTE: IDPH urges anyone who recently attended rallies, protests, or other mass gatherings to get tested for COVID-19 five to seven days after participating (even if asymptomatic) or immediately if symptoms develop. It is critical that any new cases be identified early before they promote community spread.
LIBRARY UPDATE. Start placing your hold requests: Curbside Pickup will be available to Lake Bluff Library cardholders beginning June 15th. What makes June 15th even better? The Library’s new autorenewal policy starts the same day. More information about both of these services is available on the Curbside Pickup page on the Library website. Curbside Pickup is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Bluff Library.
PARK DISTRICT UPDATE. The Lake Bluff Park District will begin outdoor group fitness and indoor personal training on Monday, June 8. Summer camps and tennis lessons will resume Monday, June 15.
Village and Community Updates
VEHICLE STICKER renewals are due by July 31. You can renew your sticker online, by U.S. mail, or postage-free using the white dropbox across from Village Hall. (Village Hall remains closed to the public.)
COMMUNITY FORUM. If you missed it, you can watch a replay of our local leaders answering your questions about the future and COVID-19.
FARMERS MARKET. The Lake Bluff Farmers Market began today with a (safe) sellout crowd! We'll be back next Friday from 7 a.m. to noon.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED. This year's Farmers Market will take more help than ever before to produce. Volunteers will be provided PPE and stationed at a market entrance for shifts of 2-3 hours to help educate visitors on safety precautions. If you are interested, e-mail farmersmarket@lakebluff.org with your name and availability.
PROPERTY TAX RELIEF. The Lake County Board has approved property tax payment deferrals for all Lake County homeowners. Generally speaking, a homeowner will need to pay 50% on the original due date and the remaining 50% within 60 days. Click for more information.
Board and Committee Actions
For more information, visit the Village's meeting packets and videos page. Agendas and meeting materials are typically available the Friday before a meeting; videos within a week after the meeting; and minutes after they are approved at the next meeting of the public body. Not all meetings are recorded on video.
Due to the COVID-19 emergency, no physical meetings will occur. Village business will be conducted virtually. Click here for details on the format and how to participate.
