Administration

The Village of Lake Bluff operates under the Board-Administrator form of government. This form of government combines the leadership and policy-making skills of elected officials with the professional administrative training of the Village Administrator.

Under this popular form of government, the elected representatives establish policies steering the Village's purpose, values, mission, and goals. It is the role of the Village Administrator to implement those policies in an efficient and effective manner.

The Village Administrator provides overall direction and administration of policies and procedures established by the President and Board of Trustees.· The Administrator coordinates activities of all Village departments, and formulates policies, goals and objectives in conjunction with the Department Directors.·

The staff in the Village Administrator's Office is charged with a wide variety of duties. Among these duties are communications, special event coordination, contract management and provide staff support to various boards, commissions and committees, and Village Board agenda preparation.
